What types of carpet & Upholstery cleaning services (Method) do you offer?

We can provide you with professional, high quality Steam Cleaning (Hot Water Extraction Method), which is also known as deep cleaning. And a wide range of other cleaning method as it depend on the fabric and type of carpets
How long those the carpet take to dry?
With our special steam cleaning method your carpet will be left damp to dry after about 3 – 4 hours. But if the carpet is seriously dirty & stained then give it a little longer time as more cleaning solution must have been used.
However if drying is a concern mention it to the our Cleaning Technitians, they will be able to advise on drying times and, if required, use some specialist techniques to speed up the process.
Please note that there is usually an extra charge for this service.
How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
Generally, manufactures recommend that carpets should be professionally cleaned by qualified technicians every 12 to 18 Months. However, it all depends on the magnitude of traffic that the room in question handles. Carpets should be cleaned on a regular basis and before they become heavily soiled. Essentially, you should clean your carpets before the soil deposits are visible by the eye – if you get to this stage, you should not only clean your carpets immediately but also seek medical examination as you could have already developed health problems related to soiled carpets.
Do you guarantee your services ?
Yes. We promise that if you are not satisfied with the result from a job then we will continue to clean until you are happy or we will arrange to come back and re-do the clean absolutely free of charge.
Do you charge per hour or per job?
Our carpet cleaning is NOT charged per hour but per job. We gather the information about your carpet either over the phone or by a site survey – the type of carpet, the size, stains and condition and provide a quote for the whole job. Once we give you the price it will not change, unless there is a difference in excess of 10%.
Will professional cleaning affect the protector on my carpet/will it need to be re-applied afterwards?
It is important to note that protector will wear off of any carpet that is in use. Walking, vacuuming, general wear and cleaning will all have an effect on this. Carpet protectors shield the fibres, they are designed to prevent spillages, dropped items and other general wear affecting the carpet directly. However, in doing so it will lose some of its effectiveness and should be re-applied on a regular basis to ensure continued protection.
Will my carpets re-soil quicker following cleaning?
Our cleaning chemicals and detergents are manufactured to the highest specifications for quality and effectiveness. Famous Cleaning Professionals will only use detergents designed for the removal of soil from carpets and upholstery and when used correctly, these will not lead to any rapid re-soiling. Detergents that are not designed for use on carpets and upholstery may cause re-soiling problems so be rest assured that all our chemicals are SABS APPROVED!
Do you Clean remove red win stain?
We have tea and coffee removers, removers for Red Wine, Rust, Paints, Lipsticks, Ink and even chewing gum. We also use a specially formulated carpet cleaning product that is protein based and this removes milk and food stains. Water marks caused by pot plants and flood damage can also be eliminated. For all of deep stain removal service we are available to help you. Please Note: Not all stains are removable, especially when the stain stays older it becomes more difficult to remove. And it also depends if you have tried to clean the carpet yourself before .However at Famous cleaning service, we guarantee that if we can’t remove a stain that no one else will be able to remove it either.
Will all the stains come out?
No guarantee can be made that any particular stain will be removed. Some stains permanently damage the carpet fibres and no amount of specialist cleaning will reverse this. We have received advanced training for spot and stain removal and will be able to deal with most problems. If you have a stain you are concerned about, discuss it with one of our technician and they will be happy to advice.
Can you Stain Guard the carpet/Upholstery?
Yes, for an additional cost we can stain guard (Masterguard) your carpet and couches, please ask our friendly office lady while doing your bookings.
Do I have to move furniture?
Yes, in most cases we will be happy to move furniture .However, some large flat-bottomed or fixed pieces of furniture will not be moved. We do move dressers, china cabinets, electronics or pianos. Also it is important that any valuable items or furniture containing valuables are moved by the customer.
Is there a risk of shrinkage?
If a carpet is properly installed, it is very rare that the cleaning process will cause it to shrink. Our technicians carry out a full inspection prior to any cleaning and test for potential problems such as shrinkage.
What are your cleaners’ working hours?
Our cleaners work any day of the week from 07.00 to 17.00 including Public and Bank holidays. Cleaners can finish later than 17.00 or even work after hours if agreed with Famous Cleaning Services.

Do I need to be at home when you carry out the cleaning?

 

You don’t need to be at home as long as we have access to your property, as well as access to electricity and water. However, we would like you to be at home upon completion of the service so you can inspect the results and arrange payments.
Do you provide cleaning materials and equipment?
Provision of cleaning detergents and equipment is included in the charge you have been initially quoted by one of our representatives.
Can I leave your cleaners unsupervised?
Our cleaners are fully trained, vetted and disciplined to provide high quality service. You can leave them at the property to carry out their job as long as you are there in the beginning of the service to let them in and towards the end to inspect their work. However if you do not feel confident in leaving them at the property unsupervised you are more than welcome to be there the whole time.
Do I pay you or do I pay to the cleaner the full amount?
You can pay to us or pay directly to the cleaner at the end of the service.
Is it possible for third party to pay for the cleaning?
It is possible for third party to pay for the service in case you can not be present at the end of the service ;as long as you have initially informed us and have provided the contact details of your representative.
Is washing of walls included as part of your Spring Cleaning Services?
We do wipe down walls .But we will not try to wash the walls and the ceilings. We will however clean all cobwebs. We do however wash/clean the walls if you ask us to do it.This service is time consuming hence will cost extra and the entire responsibility will be yours should any damage to the walls occurs.
What else is NOT included in the pre,post occupational /Spring Clean ?
Not included in our Spring Cleaning (New Tenancy cleaning, End of Tenancy cleaning, Pre/ Post- occupational cleaning, Move-In/Out cleaning, Post-renovation cleaning, After-builders Cleaning, or just one-time spring cleaning of your property) ,are: carpet cleaning, exterior windows, any external areas (patios, gardens, external staircases, parking spaces, balconies, terraces). These services are available at extra cost. Please call our customer service team on 0113185674 to obtain a quote.
Are there any extra charges I have to pay?
Parking fee and congestion charge will be added to your total price if we cannot park our vehicle free of charge servicing your address and if you cannot provide a parking space or a valid parking permit..
How soon after booking can you do pre,post occupational /Spring cleaning at my property?
We need at least 2 days to arrange your Spring cleaning . If you book a Spring Cleaning Service with us on a short notice, e.g. Same day or the next day, an extra amount will be added to the final price.
What are after builders / construction/renovation clean?
Part of our Post /Pre Occupational Spring Clean or Once off deep cleaning – Whether you have had a whole refurbishment or just a small DIY project it can result in a very dusty home or office. We recommend that you wait until at least the day builders /contractors or workers are out before starting with the clean to let the dust settle and to avoid builders interest conflicting with the cleaners. When you book an after builders clean with Famous Cleaning we will send a team of cleaners with all of the cleaning equipment and materials to remove the dust and get your place feeling like home again.
Do you dust walls and ceilings on after builders clean?
Our cleaners are fully trained to provide professional After Builders Cleaning Service. We mainly concentrate on the dust which is normally built up on the walls and ceilings. Therefore our aim is to clean as much of the dust as possible which includes dusting all surfaces, walls and ceilings.
Do you wash walls?
Unfortunately Famous Cleaning does not specialize in washing walls as we can not be sure if the paint is washable or not. However if you request us to clean certain spots we will try to remove them as much as possible with cleared understanding between you and Famous Cleaning that you will not hold us or any of our cleaning technician responsible for damages caused during the cleaning.
What do you do on One Off services?
We have got a standard task list which our cleaners complete, however you can prepare your own tasks depending on your needs.
Do I pay you or do I pay to the cleaner the full amount?
You can pay to us or to the cleaner at the end of the service.

We ask that you give us 24 hours notice, so that we can adjust our schedules.

What if I am not satisfied with your cleaning?
We do make every effort to provide you with reliable cleaners. However, if you are not satisfied with any of our cleaning services, please let us know within 24 hours, and we will schedule and re-do the job free of charge. If you are still not satisfied with the service we will send you another cleaner and make sure the mistake never repeats.
What hours do your cleaners work?
Our Carpet cleaning and Spring Cleaning teams are available 7 days a week.
Our Commercial & Emergency Cleaning teams are available 24hrs a day 364 days a year. Please give us notice to arrange unusual hours.
Our regular cleaners are available 6 days a week (Mon – Sat) and tend to do 2 slots per day starting at 9am or 1-2pm.
May I meet the cleaner first?
Yes, Famous Cleaning will arrange a meeting with the cleaner at your house at any time of your convenience, which can be in the daytime, evening or weekend. You can discuss your priorities with our lady. We are happy to arrange trial cleans in the evening and at weekends so that you can get to know your Regular cleaner and give instructions.
Do I have to stay at home when the cleaner comes to me?
Not necessarily. The cleaners are experienced and reliable so that you can leave them to clean alone in your house. Am I going to have the same cleaner every time? Yes, as long as you are satisfied with your cleaner..
Can I trust your cleaners and give a set of keys of my home?
You can give keys to our cleaners. Most of our clients are working busy people.
What are after builders cleans?

Why is your service more expensive than hiring a simple maid?
No. I don’t think we are expensive – Honest and Straight forward pricing .Our quality services are very affordable and when you come through Famous Cleaning you can be sure that you are going to get the absolute best service possible.
How do I pay for services?
The preferred method of payment at time of service is cash or Cheque . EFT payment or Bank deposit is also allowed but proof of payment must be sent to our office before cleaners are sent out.?
For your convenience, if we have a contract arrangement, we would be happy to invoice you at the end of each month.
Can I get my landlord, my girlfriend or third party to pay for the cleaning?
We ask that the person making the booking is responsible for payment. If you are not physically there at the time of cleaning please arrange for payment in advance. Alternatively we need a purchase order send to us on a headed paper with the details and instructions of the person / organization paying.
Can I choose the day and time the work will be done?
Yes. Just call our very caring Lady at least 24 hours ahead of the time you would like us to arrive and we will make every effort to be there when you need us..

Do you have a cancellation fee?

We apply a cancellation fee only if the service is cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time or if the customer fails to provide access to our team as previously arranged.
When can your cleaners come?
Usually we are able to provide cleaners on the same day, especially if you can call in the morning. However,we recommend an advance booking so that you can have the pick of appointment dates and times.
Do I have to pay extra for any congestion charges or parking fees?
If you are able to provide a free parking space for the cleaners, you will not pay anything in addition. The only charges that may apply on top of the price, are congestion (if the site address is in Gauteng congestion charge area) or parking fees.
How do you vet your cleaners?
We arrange an interview for all our cleaners at our office where they are required to provide us with the following documents:

  • Proof of ID and eligibility to work in South Africa
  • Proof of home address
  • Two references/ carefully checked

Approved candidates are given a professional training to ensure the quality of service provided.

How much notice do you require?
We have enough cleaners which helps us spring into action with only 24hours notice! In some cases within one hour of your booking ; depending on the type of service you requesting and your location. However, if possible, please aim to book your jobs further in advance – to avoid disappointment as we do get extreme busy times
